Electricity will gain momentum in all world regions, reaching 38% globally in 2050 compared to 23% currently.

From between 12 and 25% historically, the share of electricity will quickly increase and reach between a quarter and more than half of final energy consumption in most regions by 2050, in our EnerBlue scenario (announced policies and pledges), mainly driven by a growing access to energy in developing economies and technological developments (heat pumps, EVs...) in developed economies.
